It’s time for Dine LA! After looking through the list of restaurants, the first one I decided to try is Eigikutei in Little Tokyo. The Dine LA Omakase Sushi Lunch Special is $55 and comes with Zensai appetizer, Chawanmushi, 8 pieces of omakase sushi, Asari Clam Miso Soup, and dessert. Originally I was thinking of trying the $88 14-course Omakase Sushi Special, but after seeing the regular menu, I decided that the $55 lunch special was a better deal. Since my party did not make a reservation, we showed up right at 11:30am. Luckily, there was no wait and plenty of seating. We got seated at a booth.
Zensai Appetizer
There were three appetizers. The staff spoke very quietly so it was hard to hear what she said, but there was tofu with wasabi, okra, and a third cold dish. My favorite was the tofu. The texture was so smooth!

Chawanmushi
The chawanmushi was next. I was quite impressed with the chawanmushi. The egg custard was super silky! All the other ones I have had at other restaurants were not as silky as this one. Inside, there was also mushroom and chicken. I made sure to eat every little bit of the egg custard.

Nigiri
It was time for the eight pieces of omakase sushi. I was expecting it to be eight pieces of seafood nigiri, but one of the pieces was actually tamago. The quality of fish was good, but the selection of fish was nothing too special. I really liked the scallops and uni!

Asari Clam Miso Soup
Next up, the miso soup. Unlike the other miso soups I’ve had before, this one did not have seaweed! There were two clams inside. The miso soup was good, but not having the seaweed made me realize how much I like having seaweed in my miso soups.

Dessert
Hot green tea was served just before the dessert came out. The hot tea was really hot, but was a great way to wrap up the meal even on this hot day. I really liked the dessert. It was a matcha flavored dessert (not too sweet), and the red bean on top added just the right amount of sweetness. The dessert was a bit firmer than pudding, and was delicious!

For $55, the Dine LA menu was not bad. The quality was good, but I was definitely still hungry after. My favorite was the chawanmushi and the dessert. The nigiri was pretty good, but I’ve had better – and eight pieces was not enough for me! Would I go back again? The shabu shabu that the table next to us ordered smelled really good, but I would prefer other places like Sushi Gen.
