This 2025 wedding was different – it feels like forever when I first met the groom. We met when I was taller than him, by a whole head! From birthday parties to board game and karaoke nights, the fun never ends. I was so excited for this wedding!
The wedding was in San Francisco, and we made sure to plan extra time into the schedule to get there and find parking. The bride and groom had organized shuttles from the hotel, but we wanted to explore SF afterwards too so we decided to drive instead. We got very lucky when we arrived at the church. The parking lot had already filled up, but there was a parking spot on the street nearby. We were so early that the wedding party was still taking photos inside the church. The church was so pretty!

Although we got there pretty early, the shuttle carrying other guests ended up being late – so everyone had to wait for the shuttle to arrive. The wedding ended up starting 15-20 minutes after the scheduled time. In the meantime, we tried solving the crossword puzzle on the program. When the groom walked in with his parents, and the bride with her parents, they all looked so joyful. Soon after the ceremony ended, everyone had to head out because the next wedding at this church was about to start!
The reception was in San Mateo. At the entrance, you pick up a Bingo card for a chance to win a Polaroid camera! There were so many people to meet. As we walked further in, the bride and groom were in the center of the room in traditional clothes, taking photos with friends and family. I loved how there was this scheduled time for photos!
A few steps away was the appetizers and boba table. There were shu mai, shrimp dumplings, skewers, and egg rolls! On the boba table, I loved the options – Hong Kong Milk Tea, Thai Iced Tea, and Decaf Black Milk Tea. I wish I didn’t have such a big lunch (and so many snacks) in the afternoon…

When it was time to go into the reception area, we found our name signs with our table numbers (and also included what meal we chose) and found our table. We were right by the wedding party entrance! The seats at the table were also assigned. Each seat had a card and photo – either a photo you took with the bride or groom or a photo of the couple! I got a photo with the groom from when we were much, much younger. This was such a cute surprise!
The wedding party entrance was so fun to watch. The groomsmen had so much fun that they accidentally pulled down part of the ceiling drape – and continued dancing in! Everyone gasped and laughed at the same time. For the bride and groom entrance, one of the wedding guests had to help hold up the ceiling drape as they walked in. The venue ended up needing a ladder to put it back up.
For dinner, there was salad, either steak or salmon, cake, and a cocktail bar!

My favorite thing is probably the photobooth – I was so impressed by the photo quality! There was also an artist painting a photo of the bride and groom all night. By the end of the night, the painting was complete.
What a memorable wedding!
