Ng Yip Kwan (Kwan Gor) and Hubert Wu…two of my favorite singers are having a concert at the Yaamava’ Theater at Yaamava’ Resort & Casino! When I saw the poster for it, I was so excited. They have such beautiful voices and I especially like Kwan Gor’s songs. Since the two of them were having a concert together, I knew I couldn’t miss out on it!
There were a few options for tickets, ranging from $68 to $268. If you order directly from the organizers, you can even get a discount for early bird pricing and a ticket option with a VIP experience! I checked the price for the VIP tickets, which included meeting both Kwan Gor and Hubert backstage, and getting a picture and souvenir from them! The price was not too crazy, but when I looked at the seats, it was way too close to the stage. My neck would be so tired looking up the whole time! I also wasn’t sure if I’d be disappointed if I met them…what if they weren’t what I expected? I ended up going for a seat that was just slightly above ground. It seemed to have a good view and was not too pricey! There were two rows in front of me to the aisle, and my seat was close to the side aisle too.
When the day finally came, I was excited. It was quite an adventure to even get to the Yaamava’ Theater though. Not only was it far out in the middle of nowhere (1.5 hour drive), but there was also such a long line of cars just to get into the parking structure! People were waiting to get in either to go to the casino, or for the concert, so it was another 20 minutes of sitting through traffic. There was only one way in, and it took yet another 10 minutes to find an open spot once inside the structure. I ended up getting there a lot later than I had planned for.
I almost got lost looking for the entrance, then quickly walked through the casino and found the theater. There was a line outside – one to go through security, and another for if you want to spin the wheel for a prize! I got in line to spin the wheel. There was a cutout of Kwan Gor and Hubert to take photos with! When it was my turn to spin the wheel, I got nervous. There were a few different prizes – a keychain, tissue, and even a mystery prize! I ended up with a keychain, which I was quite satisfied with!
After entering the theater, there was staff handing out glowsticks, one per person. I grabbed one and went to find my seat. I loved my seat. It was so comfy and had a great view.
The concert started around 8:15pm, with Kwan Gor and Hubert walking out as they sang,《情非得已》. I loved their energy!
After the song, they introduced themselves and asked if everyone spoke Chinese. Then they asked if anyone did not understand them…in Chinese. So funny! They sang another song together, 《友共情》, before Kwan Gor went backstage and Hubert sang a few songs by himself.
The songs Hubert sang brought back so many memories of when I first heard these songs:

- 《天地不容》
When Kwan Gor returned, he started with a song called 《還剩一件未做的事》 from a recent drama, 金式森林. This has been one of my favorite songs since that drama, and I was literally listening to it on the way to the theater! It was so amazing to hear it live. His next song was a more upbeat song, 《傷心到變形》. It was funny watching him dance to this song.
Kwan Gor is so natural on stage! Not only did he sound good, but he also used up the entire stage and was interacting with the audience throughout and after his songs too which I really enjoyed. It was like catching up with an old friend! His jokes and comments were so funny. He would also share the background on some of the songs he wrote too. Other songs he sang:

- 《原始心態》
- 《百姓》
It’s time for Hubert again! This time, he showed up sitting at the keyboard – he played and sang a fan favorite that he wrote, 《凡人不懂愛》 from the drama, 降魔的2.0, followed by 《化蝶》. Kwan Gor also showed up with his guitar, playing another favorite of mine, 《想跟你好好道別我怕來不及》from the drama, 香港人在北京, followed by 《心拍數》. They are so talented!
Their next joint song was 《說好不哭》. Then came the exciting part. They both walked down from the stage to say ‘hi’ to fans while singing 《到此一遊》 and 《陽光點的歌》! They were so close in proximity! This is when I wish I had bought the seat two rows up, right in the aisle because that is exactly where they walked by! So many people got out of their seats and crowded to the aisle. I just stayed in my seat. I couldn’t believe how close they were, it was like a dream come true.
When they finally made it back on stage, they did a 《謝謝你的應援》 + 《感激》 cover together and said their goodbyes. There was, of course, an encore song. After lots of convincing cheering, they showed up again to sing a song everyone knew: 《分分鐘需要你》.
I was so sad the concert had to come to an end. This has been the best concert I’ve been to! I hope they have another concert again soon.
