It’s been so long since I’ve been to Disneyland, and now I can add February 2026 to my list! My most recent visits to Disneyland were:
- Tokyo Disneyland (November 2023)
- Tokyo Disneyland (November 2019)
- Disneyland (May 2018)
This time, I visited Disneyland specifically for the World of Color Dessert Party in the California Adventure Park. I did not know what to expect – I saw Disneyland and thought, Sure, why not? I showed up to the meeting spot right by the Disneyland Hotel at 7:00pm. It’s the 70th Anniversary of the park, so there were some pretty decorations!

The staff checked in our group, gave us a wristband (it was so loose I was scared it would slip out) and then we went through security and walked through Downtown Disneyland. I was surprised our group was able to stay together even with the crowds. At the entrance, we were each given a ticket to the park – I got Minnie Mouse!

We walked and walked and walked. It’s been so long since I’ve been in the park (and it was so dark) that I had no idea where we were going. I kept looking at the stores and popcorn stands as we passed by them, wondering if I could stop to get something. We didn’t stop walking. The park was also decorated for the Lunar New Year celebration, so that was cool to see too!
We finally made it to the Pixar Pal-A-Round Ferris wheel. We all got in line to walk into the reserved viewing area at Paradise Gardens Park. This is also when we learned that our tickets were for premium seats…and that we had chairs to sit on! Not only that, but there was also a table and friendly cast members serving treats and drinks. There were two options to choose from – regular tables with folding chairs, or the high-top tables with director chairs! We chose a high-top table.

Once we sat down, a cast member came by and gave us our own dessert box, which I was not expecting. I thought there would just be desserts in an area and you go choose and grab what you want. The dessert box was really nice and had charcuterie and cheeses with jam and crackers, freeze-dried fruit, a World of Color-themed fruity crème macaron, mini cupcake, white chocolate drizzled fruity crisped rice treat, and a zesty lemon cake with candied citrus wedge. My favorite was the macaron. The dessert box also came with a really cool surprise – a World of Color collectible enamel pin blind box! I got the full color pin.

The cast members came around again, this time with drinks. I passed on the soda. Then, the hot chocolate came around. It was pretty chilly, so I got a hot chocolate. Then, they came around again with bottled water. I thought that was the end of it – until they started taking alcoholic beverage orders. I got their seasonal Lavender Cocktail!

Is that the end? Nope. They started walking around with tea. If I had known earlier, I definitely would have opted for the tea, but since I already got three drinks, I didn’t get the tea.
The show finally started at 9pm. I thought it was going to be the World of Color Happiness! show, but there was actually a pre-show too: Hurry Home – A Lunar New Year Celebration. It was such a great show, especially seeing the scenes of Mulan and Mushu! The show lasted 6 minutes, and the World of Color Happiness! show followed. I really liked the music of the pre-show and how our seats were elevated so we were tall enough that there weren’t people blocking our views!

The World of Color Happiness! show featured the emotions from Inside Out, joined by characters from other movies like Turning Red, The Incredibles, and Tangled. The songs were very upbeat, and I loved seeing all the light projections on the water. It did get very cold sitting outdoors though, so towards the end I started wondering when the show would end.

At the end of the show, the cast members came over with bags for us to take our dessert boxes home – such a nice touch! They even took out lights to help us look brighter in photos which turned out looking great too. Overall, this was such a unique experience! I was hoping that we’d still be able to walk around the park after the show and catch some rides, but everything was already closed by the time the show ended. Maybe it’s time to get tickets to the park…?
