I finally got my finished product from Color Me Mine! I was so excited. I’ve been wondering the whole week how the colors would turn out.
My product came wrapped in packing paper. The paper was so thick that my plates almost didn’t fit in the holder that it came in. I was so scared it was going to break! I quickly unwrapped it. I liked how the colors turned out. Without the packing paper, the plates were pretty loose inside the holder. I wish it was a more snug fit.
The paint on the holder actually turned out better than I was expecting. I wasn’t sure if the quick brushing was too light, but it was a good solid pink. I like how you could see some of the brush strokes too.
For the egg waffle, I really wish I didn’t trace it over in black. The bubbles ended up being different sizes. It would have been better if I had done two different shades to distinguish the flat part and the bubble part. The sushi plate is definitely not centered. Even though I forgot to add texture for the rice, my paintbrush was apparently a bit dirty so there’s a few darker spots on the rice. I also noticed that some of the blue paint from my egg waffle ended up on the side of my sushi plate too.
The dim sum and satay had more of the style I was going for. I liked how the items looked next to the background colors I chose. The dim sum one was on the darker side, so if I were to do it again, I’d make sure to choose a lighter color. Out of all the plates, the satay actually ended up being my favorite!
Overall, I would say I was satisfied with how each piece turned out. Next time, I’ll make sure I do more planning ahead of time, and also take my time painting every detail!
