Settecento (DTLA), Round 2

After my first visit to Settecento, I am back – this time, with a larger party. The best part was that we all wanted to share! The lunch menu has not changed. You can choose one appetizer and one pasta or pizza for only $25! We basically ordered half the lunch menu, so let’s get into it!

Appetizers (we ordered all of them)

Zuppa del Giorno – soup of the day, chef’s daily selection – Today’s soup of the day is a mushroom soup with a side of croutons. When we said we were sharing everything, we meant it. We each grabbed a spoon and tried this delicious soup. When we wanted more, we used a clean spoon to drip more soup into our own spoon. Creative, right?

Insalata di Farro – mixed vegetables, vegan yogurt mint sauce – I would usually not order this salad, so I was glad that someone chose this one so I could try it. Did I like it? Yes, but this was probably my least favorite out of the five appetizers we got.

Caprese – tomato, mozzarella, basil sauce – I love caprese! We definitely had to cut this one up a bit so we could all have a piece. The basil sauce was so good!

Insalata del Settecentolettuce, raddichio, frisee, cucumber, radish, tomato, carrot, avocado, hardboiled egg, balsamic dressing – This salad was just as good as before. Make sure to give it a good mix so you can grab a bit of everything!

Prosciutto Crudo e Melone – 24-month aged parma prosciutto, italian cantaloupe, melon – A very interesting combo that I ended up liking! The cantaloupe and melon were fresh and so sweet and juicy.

Pasta

Lasagna Classica – bolognese ragu, bechamel, parmesan, mozzarella, marinara sauce, basil – Have I ever had lasagna at a restaurant? This may be the first time. We cut this into five pieces. It was delicious! I’m glad we got to share this because this would be a lot for one person!

Lasagna Classica

Spaghetti alla Chitarra alle Vongole – clams, parsley, oil, garlic, chili pepper, wine sauce – You can’t go wrong with this dish! This dish was good but did not stand out that much.

Spaghetti alla Chitarra alle Vongole

Gnocchi al Ragu Napoletano – slow cooked ragu with pork, beef, tomato, carrots, onion, celery, parsley – I’m typically not a fan of gnocchi, but I was surprised at how good this turned out. This gnocchi was light, and the sauce was so good I was trying to get as much I can with each bite. I might order this again next time.

Pizza

Diavola – salami, mozzzarella, tomato – I wanted to try a different pizza this time, so I chose the Diavola (and convinced someone else to get the mushroom pizza). This was a bit spicy and had lots of tomato sauce! It was cool to try something different, but this was a bit too saucy for me.

Diavola

Funghi & Salsiccia – mushrooms, italian sausages, mozzarella parsley – This remains my favorite! I should definitely continue trying other pizzas too though if I’m going with a large group (although it’s hard to try something different if I want meat on my pizza).

This was a wonderful meal getting to try so many dishes in one sitting. I loved how everyone wanted to share and try everything (and nobody had any dietary restrictions!) and the food was delicious. I also got to sit indoors this time and the music was not too loud. There was a nice breeze coming through the windows which was perfect! I’m excited to come back to try other items on the menu. Hopefully they add some new appetizers to their lunch so I can try something new!
