Panda Express. This is where I would go for dinner the night before an exam in college. The plate plus a free entree from filling out a previous receipt is enough food to fuel my brain…and at such a good price too! Here’s my order:
Sides
Option 1: Half Chow Mein, Half Super Greens – a healthful medley of broccoli, kale, and cabbage.
Option 2: Chow Mein – stir-fried wheat noodles with onions, celery and cabbage.
For my sides, I usually get either the Chow Mein or half Chow Mein, half Super Greens. It’s easy to make rice at home…but chow mein? Not as easy. I also must eat this with Chili Sauce! It’s so much better.
Entrees
Entree 1: The Original Orange Chicken – crispy chicken wok-tossed in a sweet and spicy orange sauce.
Entree 2: Broccoli Beef – tender beef and fresh broccoli in a ginger soy sauce.
Free Entree: Honey Walnut Shrimp – large tempura-battered shrimp, wok-tossed in a honey sauce and topped with glazed walnuts.
When it comes to the entrees, my favorites are definitely the Original Orange Chicken and Broccoli Beef. Probably not the healthiest, but I’ve always loved orange chicken, and I really like how the broccoli soaks up all the delicious, unhealthy sauce. For my free entree (make sure you use the receipt for this one), I like the Honey Walnut Shrimp, which is a premium entree. With the receipt, this premium entree becomes free – just make sure to order it last. Would I order it if I had to pay the premium? Hm…probably not.

Sometimes, I like the change it up a bit, and this is how I’d decide:
Grilled Teriyaki Chicken – grilled chicken hand-sliced to order and served with teriyaki sauce. The Grilled Teriyaki Chicken is surprisingly good, even without teriyaki sauce! I like how it’s not overcooked at all, and it’s not drenched in sauce like other entrees! If I’m not ordering another chicken entree, I would definitely get this.
Mushroom Chicken – a delicate combination of chicken, mushrooms and zucchini wok-tossed with a light ginger soy sauce. If I’m not ordering Super Greens, I might opt for the Mushroom Chicken. I like how the mushrooms and zucchini make it seem like I’m eating my veggies and being healthy.
Eggplant Tofu – lightly browned tofu, eggplant and red bell peppers tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce. Although this tends to be a bit oily, occasionally I would want tofu at Panda Express. Very occasionally.
Beijing Beef – crispy beef, bell peppers and onions in a sweet-tangy sauce. If I’m not getting the Broccoli Beef, I would consider the Beijing Beef. It wouldn’t quite be my preference, but sometimes, I just don’t want to get Broccoli Beef again.
Are you ready to place my order?
