A Gift From Your Secret Santa

Shopping – even when it’s not for yourself – is so much fun. Whether it’s a personal gift or for Secret Santa or White Elephant, the possibilities are endless when it comes to giving gifts. Maybe it’s the process of scrolling through websites and seeing everything you can buy, or just the thought of your friend’s happy face when you surprise them with the gift that you’ve carefully chosen for them. Whatever it is, it just makes you happier and puts you in the Christmas spirit!

This year, the person I got for Secret Santa decided to make it challenging for me. I don’t know too much about her, but apparently her hobbies and interests include crafting, cute or fun knickknacks, gardening, baking, and home improvement. There was nothing she wanted specifically, and nothing that she didn’t want. With a budget of around $20, where do I start?

I began by gathering a bit more information on books, movies, and shows that she likes. This can come in handy if I want to choose a themed gift, especially since it does seem like she likes cute stuff. I wanted the gift to be unique and thoughtful because if I just buy her a scarf, it won’t be as exciting as a scarf with her favorite characters on it!

Next, I looked up some typical gifts for each of her hobbies. It gave me a better idea of what items I could get, but in a way it also made it more difficult since I don’t know exactly what kind of crafting she does, what tools she already has for her garden, or if she bakes from scratch or from a kit! Looks like a themed gift might be the way to go.

Here are some of the items I came across (and considered) as I searched for a present:

Cookie Cutters

Baking includes making cookies right? Your kitchen can’t be missing this if you’re a Disney fan!

Baking Essentials

These items are cute and useful, but if you bake often, won’t you already have a set?

Kitchen Accessories

Cute Knickknacks

Whether you’re looking for something useful or something purely for decoration, these items would be a great choice, especially if you like Harry Potter!

Crafting

  • Harry Potter Crochet Kit – Slightly over budget, but if you like to crochet, this would be perfect!
  • Cardstock Paper – If you have a Cricut at home, a stack of nice cardstock paper is all you need to create some cool-looking cards!

Gardening

  • Avocado Tree Growing Kit – Does gardening include an avocado tree growing kit? This would be a pretty neat gift, but it would almost be like gifting her some responsibility!

What did I decide on? The Wooden Utensils and Mickey Cookie Cutter! Let’s hope she likes it! How’d you choose a gift for Secret Santa?
