It’s time to check out the Metro D Line Extension! Section 1 has three new stations: Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax, and Wilshire/La Cienega. On its opening day (May 8, 2026), I got to check out the Fairfax and La Cienega stations!
The train was packed with excited riders, chanting and cheering for the new station. At the Wilshire/La Cienega station, I got to pick up a tote bag that came with a bottle and keychain! It was so packed at this station. There were also food vendors giving out free food, but the lines were pretty long.
At the Wilshire/Fairfax station, we were right outside the Petersen Automotive Museum which was super cool! This area was more spacious, and there was even a car for you to draw on. There were more food vendors here than the Wilshire/La Cienega station. I was also able to collect two of the commemorative TAP cards!
I’m glad I was able to check out the opening day – it was pretty cool to see so many people excited for the D Line extension!
