Today’s lunch is at an Italian restaurant! I don’t eat Italian food that often, so this was quite exciting. The outside of the restaurant was pretty cool, and the entrance was a bit hidden!
I arrived at the restaurant when it opened. There was only one party ahead of me, so I got a seat right away. There is a bar seating area and also a few tables on the side! I sat at a table, and the natural lighting that came from the window was great.
The menu was pretty simple, and I loved how there was a description for everything. I decided to go for a lunch set that came with salad and pasta.
Insalata di arugula & mizuna – Arugula & Mizuna salad with hearts of palm, roasted almonds, balsamic dressing – I don’t think I’ve ever had hearts of palm, but it was delicious! The salad was light and refreshing, perfect to start off the meal. The portion was bigger than I had expected too!
Pomodoro – Handmade tonnarelli in our signature pomodoro sauce made with exclusively imported tomatoes from Basilicata & 24-month aged Parmigiano-Reggiano – Before starting on the pasta, the server came over to explain that the pasta needs to be mixed with the sauce before eating for the best taste. I was sad I had to mix it myself, but I did my best to mix it well. I took a bite. Mmmm! The al dente pasta was not like pasta I’ve had before – I actually liked it! The pomodoro sauce…it was so good! The tomato sauce combined with the texture of the cheese really took the dish to the next level. I made sure to clean as much sauce as I could off my plate!
Overall, I was pretty happy with this meal. The pasta was smaller than the salad, but it was enough to make me satisfied and any more pasta may have been too heavy! I’m curious how their other dishes taste!
