Checked out the Altadena Crest Trail for the first time! This trail is right by the Eaton Canyon Trail and was much more difficult. I went earlier in the day this time when it wasn’t as hot, but it still turned out to be quite a sweaty hike! There wasn’t too much shade along the dirt trail, but more shade than I had expected.
Since the trail had a lot more steep segments, it was pretty empty. I only passed by a few people the whole time and it was pretty quiet and peaceful. I went up to the 1 mile marker before turning back. It took around an hour to get to the 1 mile marker and by the time I made it out, it was around an hour and 30 minutes since I started.
The views were decent, but I’d much rather do the Eaton Canyon Trail again!
