I first heard of The Brothers Sushi and how good the sushi is from a friend, and of course, I had to give it a try (a few tries, actually)! This restaurant is located in Woodland Hills, and there is another one in Santa Monica that opened up not too long ago.
After looking at the menu online, I decided to go during their lunch hours to try their chirashi bowl. I made a reservation online. The restaurant can be easy to miss if you’re driving too fast, but there is a small parking lot in the back with a nice mural by the entrance.
I was seated inside the restaurant. The Premium “JYO” Chirashi Bowl is on their lunch menu, and comes with miso soup and salad.
Premium “JYO” Chirashi Bowl – a generous amount of toro, side of uni, and their premium seafood selection served over perfectly executed sushi rice.
The chirashi bowl was so good. The portion was pretty big, and I loved how unique and tasty the sushi rice was too – the sushi rice was truly “perfectly executed”. The fish and wasabi were both so fresh! I loved the chirashi bowl and was very satisfied at the end of the meal.
It was so good I went back another time. I had originally wanted to get the chirashi bowl again, but it was not served during dinner so I decided to go for their omakase instead. I was so excited!
The first three courses were already so good I couldn’t wait for more. The flavors were paired so well with the seafood it left me craving for more. Each course was special in its own way, but my favorite was the Alaskan King Crab in creamy ponzu!
Next was the nigiri:
The hand roll and another special course came after:
The meal would not be complete without dessert. In addition to the dessert that was part of the omakase, we also ordered the Brown Tea Ice Cream, which came with fruits! It was a great decision.
Every time there is a special occasion, it is an excuse to make a reservation at The Brothers Sushi. I returned for the third time. Between the chirashi bowl and omakase, the chirashi bowl is the way to go. I even got a complimentary cheesecake and ice cream for the occasion!
So far, the chirashi bowl at The Brothers Sushi is at the top of my list for chirashi bowls. I can’t wait to go back!
