Pizzeria Bianco (DTLA), Round 2

I am back at Pizzeria Bianco! I am excited to have their pizzas again. I sat at the same table as when I went the first time. The menu was pretty similar but I was sad I didn’t see the Mortadella on the menu this time! That was so good. I did get to try a lot of other items on the menu this time though!

Salads

After trying the Market Salad last time, I made sure not to order that one again – I wanted more greens!

Little Gem Salad – organic radish. This salad tasted so fresh. I wish it was a slightly bigger portion, but I was satisfied with the amount of greens I was able to eat.
Burrata Salad – heirloom tomatoes, olive oil. Mmm…this is a must get! The burrata was so creamy and the tomatoes were juicy. We liked it so much we were soaking up the rest of the olive oil and juices in that bowl with some of our pizza crusts!

Pizza

I noticed that the restaurant has crayons and blank pieces of paper for kids to draw on! It would be so cool if they printed a pizza on the paper for kids to color…and to draw their own toppings! Maybe it could even end up as one of their pizza specials!

Sonny Boy – tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, soppressata, Gaeta olives. The Sonny Boy pizza was good! It was hard to decide whether I liked Sonny Boy or Wiseguy more, but I think I would have to go with Wiseguy. If the Sonny Boy had a bit more olives, I might choose it over Wiseguy.
Wiseguy – wood-roasted onion, fresh smoke mozzarella, fennel sausage
. I really liked the fennel sausages on this pizza! The white sauce was also a good balance with the toppings.
Market Pizza – fonduta, spring onions, thyme, magic molly purple potatoes topped with pecorino. This pizza was very interesting. Purple potato pizza? Of course we had to try it! The flavor reminded me of the green onion bread at Asian bakeries, so the flavor seemed less unique.

Overall, this was a great meal. Food was great, and the company was even better. I enjoyed this meal! I’m curious about the pastas and big plates at Pizzeria Bianco! Should I try those next time?
