I’ve been waiting for months to try LALA’s Argentine Grill, and finally, the day has come. I got to visit the Downtown Los Angeles location. The restaurant was not too busy during lunch time, and to view the menu, you scan the QR code on the table. With a party of three, we were able to try a couple of starters and share our main dishes too!
Starters
Complimentary Bread with Chimichurri Sauce – I loved the chimichurri sauce! I would’ve preferred the bread crust to be a bit crispier.

Empanadas Combo – 4 full-sized empanadas of your choice (beef, chicken, spinach, ham & cheese, chicken curry, cheese & onion, salmon) – We got the beef, salmon, spinach, and cheese & onion empanadas. The salmon empanada was very unique and I really liked it! There was so much salmon inside. I’d like to try the beef and the spinach empanada next time!

Croquetas – 3 rice croquettes, mozzarella in a tomato sauce – This was my favorite starter. The mozzarella in the croquette was delicious, and the tomato sauce made it even better. I’d definitely get this as a starter again!

Main Dishes
Ñoqui – potato dumpling pasta in a creamy tomato sauce – I am usually not a fan of ñoqui, and this time, it was no different. It’s so thick and heavy! I did like the sauce though – it wasn’t too salty.

Milanesa – thinly cut steak, breaded and lightly fried, served with two sides – This is what I came to LALA’s to try, their milanesa. For sides, we got salad and fries. The steak was truly thinly cut. I liked the thickness of the breading, but wished the steak was just a little bit thicker. It was a little bit drier than I had expected. We also asked for chimichurri sauce on the side for extra flavor! Next time, I’d want to try the Milanesa Napolitana instead.

Suprema Napolitana – boneless chicken breast, breaded and lightly fried, topped with basil tomato sauce & melted cheese, served with two sides – We got mashed potatoes and fries as the sides. I liked the juiciness and thickness of the chicken! The tomato sauce and melted cheese topping was really good on top of the breaded chicken breast, hence why I want to try the Milanesa Napolitana next time.

This was a good meal! The portions were pretty big, and the food was delicious. This was definitely more than enough food for three people. I know what I would (and wouldn’t) order next time! I am a bit curious about their sandwiches too. Maybe I’ll give that a try!
