A Walking Nightmare

Plop! I did my business as usual, and my mommy picked up my mess. I happily continued on with my walk, but suddenly, I sensed danger. I turned my head back, and I saw a tall and scary masked person. Ahhhh! The person is coming closer and closer!

I ran as fast as I could with my little legs, but my mommy held me back. She yanked me back towards her and wouldn’t walk any faster. C’mon mommy! Let’s get away from this scary person!

I tried picking up my speed again as I glanced back a few times, worried that the scary person would catch me. We NEED to get out of here…quick! Another stranger nearby noticed me looking back several times and looked at the scary person too. Finally, my mommy looked back, but that didn’t deter the scary person from following us. The scary person was almost catching up, but maintained a distance from us. My mommy was still holding my mess in a bag, so I think that kept the scary person from getting too close to us.

My mommy must have noticed something was off, because when we finally reached the end of the block, we made a turn left, away from the scary person. I looked back. Whew! The scary person didn’t follow us. I have never been so scared my entire life! The worried look on my face must have given away that I knew we were being followed.

The other stranger also thought the scary person was suspicious, because I saw her cross to the other side of the street too. We went our separate ways, and man, I am so relieved that we were able to safely get away!

Based on a true story from the perspective of a pug walking in front of me…I have never seen a dog look at me so scared and worried!
