The year has kicked off with a fun wedding filled with really delicious food! The wedding was very organized and there was so much to love about it.
Wedding Website – The wedding website was very informative and super interesting to scroll through over and over again. The story was also so much fun to read – you can even hear their voices telling the story in your head! Another exciting part was reading and looking up the food recs in the area.
Guest Book – Instead of the typical guest book you see at weddings, there was a fill in the blank activity titled, “Advice & Wishes for the Mr. & Mrs.” that required some creative thinking:
- How long you’ve known the bride & groom (so much math!)
- Where you traveled from (okay, this one was much easier)
- Noun for what you’re really here for (the food, of course)
- The super open-ended blanks:
- Always ___
- Never ___
- Don’t forget to ___
- Try this creative date idea
- Watch this movie/show
- Lastly, I just want you to know…
- Your Name (this one seemed easy, but it still took some thought – maybe I just had too much fun with this activity?)
Appetizers – Food kept coming out as I was doing the fill in the blank activity. My favorite was the Ahi Tuna Poke, which was served on a fish-shaped spoon! The other appetizers were also good, but I needed to save my stomach for the main course so I didn’t eat as much of those.
- Parmesan-Thyme Shortbread, Tomato Confit, Mozzarella
- Deviled Egg, Chive, Piment D-Espelette
- Ahi Tuna Poke, Avocado, Sesame, Wonton Crisp
- Applewood Smoked Bacon, Chorizo, Date
Cocktail Hour – In addition to appetizers coming out nonstop, there was also an open bar! The cool part about this wedding was that the reception tables weren’t actually open until later, so everyone got to hang out with people who might not be sitting at their table with yummy appetizers and drinks.
Salad & Main Entrees – When I saw the salad, I thought in my head, strawberries in my salad?? What a weird salad! It ended up tasting way better than I expected. I wish there was more salad. For the main entree, I got the pistachio-crusted cod with lemon-herb butter and farro per the bride’s recommendation. She was so right. It tasted really good. The flavor and texture were perfect. I also got to try a taste of the grilled New York steak, and I was glad I chose the cod instead. The lesson here is to always trust the bride 🙂
Dessert – Mochi donuts for dessert! There were so many flavors to choose from and I wish I got to try them all. There was even a pineapple flavor!
Wedding Decorations & Wedding Favor – From the wedding program to the menus, everything was designed so beautifully. The wedding favor was also very cool – Ethiopian coffee beans and tea!
Table Photo – The table photo with the bride and groom was the most efficient way I’ve ever seen it done. Everyone at the table had to stand together by the dance floor, and the bride and groom ran around the circle to take a photo with each group. So quick and smart, and they were able to get some exercise with it too!
Photobooth & Dance Floor – One of my favorite things at weddings and events is the photobooth. There were a lot of cute props to choose from – latte, tacos, boba, hot sauce, mochi donuts, the heads of the bride and groom, and so much more! There was great music and so much life on the dance floor – I’ve never seen dance floors so lively!
Venue – The reception venue was very spacious, and had some pretty cool locations to take photos. There was even a nice outdoor area with heat lamps!
A Meant to Be Moment: Welcoming the groom into the fan club! Congratulations on your new fan club status!
