I’ve been standing on the sidewalk outside a store for a few minutes, waiting to go to the next destination. The store is on a busy street, located on the ground floor of a building. It was a nice and sunny day but with a little bit of humidity. I looked through all my bookmarked locations on Google Maps, trying to figure out where to go next, when I heard and felt a loud thud.
“Whaaa!” I yelled.
Something hit my left shoulder. I immediately turned around. What hit me? Did a bird fly into me? Did a bird poop on me? Who hit me?
It wasn’t heavy, but it definitely wasn’t light. There was some weight to it, but it was not a hard object. I checked my shoulder. There was nothing on my shoulder. My jacket was still dry and clean. There were no signs on my jacket that something fell on me. Whatever hit me fell right off.
A lady walked by moments after I felt the thud. Is she the one who attacked me? But it felt like the object fell from the sky. If it was thrown at me from the ground, it probably would have flown past my shoulder and in front of me. I would have seen it.
Another lady standing in front of the store kept staring at me as I reacted to the attack. Could it be her? But she is facing me and the object came from either above me or behind me.
There was a ball of paper towels on the floor, but with the amount of weight I felt, it had to have been wet. But my jacket was dry. Did someone’s clothes fall from the sky? I didn’t see any clothes on the floor.
We left the street immediately after, but am now left wondering, what could have possibly fallen on me? Who threw the unidentified object?
